Xiaomi Launches POCO X8 Pro Featuring a Huge Battery and Blazing-Fast Charging
Xiaomi Unveils POCO X8 Pro Series with Massive Battery and Ultra-Fast Charging
Xiaomi has officially announced the launch of its new POCO X8 Pro series, targeting the high-performance segment with flagship-grade MediaTek processors. The lineup includes two models — the POCO X8 Pro and POCO X8 Pro Max — offering noticeable differences in performance and battery capacity while maintaining a similar overall user experience.
The POCO X8 Pro features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with brightness reaching up to 3500 nits. It is powered by the Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The device packs a 6500mAh battery with fast charging support.
Meanwhile, the POCO X8 Pro Max comes with a larger 6.83-inch display protected by Gorilla Glass 7i and is powered by the more powerful Dimensity 9500s chipset. It offers the same memory and storage options but includes a significantly larger 8500mAh battery, also supporting fast charging.
Focus on Battery Innovation
Xiaomi is clearly emphasizing battery performance, utilizing silicon-carbon technology to increase energy density compared to traditional batteries. This allows for larger capacities without significantly increasing device size.
Estimates suggest that the standard POCO X8 Pro can deliver more than a full day of heavy usage, while the POCO X8 Pro Max may last up to two days, making it an ideal choice for users seeking long battery life without frequent charging.
Ultra-Fast Charging and Smart Power Management
Both devices support 100W HyperCharge technology, enabling a full charge in under an hour. They also support reverse charging up to 27W, allowing users to charge other devices.
Xiaomi has implemented dedicated power management chips and a smart charging system that regulates temperature and charging speed while preserving long-term battery health. According to the company, the battery can retain over 80% of its capacity after 1600 charge cycles, equivalent to several years of use.
Shared Features and Competitive Pricing
Both models run on Android 16 with HyperOS 3 and feature a dual-camera setup, including a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. Xiaomi also integrates an LED lighting system within the camera module that reacts to notifications and certain games.
Pricing is one of the key highlights of the series. The POCO X8 Pro starts at around $360, while the POCO X8 Pro Max starts at approximately $480, positioning them as high-performance devices at more affordable prices compared to competitors.
Despite some pre-installed apps, the strong focus on performance and battery life makes the series an attractive option for users looking for powerful devices with long-lasting usage at a reasonable price.
